David Palmer is the Institute's Chair of Education and Training. He is a Fellow of the Institute and a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives. He is the author of "Tracing: An Investigator's Guide to Finding Wanted and Missing Persons", and The Institute of Professional Investigators' "Manual for Professional Investigators"

He is a serving police investigator, currently engaged in fraud investigations in a provincial force. He has 26 years experience in the investigation and security fields.
