Ian Hopkins served for 23 years in the Metropolitan Police, the last 7 years on The Metropolitan and City of London Fraud Squad, retiring as a Detective Inspector. He has spent the last 17 years in private practice investigating fraud and other associated corporate enquiries. He has travelled extensively throughout the world conducting fraud investigations and lecturing on fraud related matters.

On retiring from the Police Service he ran his own business for 10 years before joining Carratu International Plc as a consultant specialising in corporate matters.

He is a past Principal and a Fellow of the Institute of Professional Investigators. He also holds a diploma from the International Institute of Security and has qualified as a Certified Fraud Examiner with the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners.
